If you'd like to use a candy experiment at your science fair:

1. A science fair project should be a research project, not a demonstration. Ask a testable question, like "What would happen if I change this?" or "Which one is the best?" Then set up an experiment to answer the question. (See this NASA page for more details.)
2. Your science fair project should be your own work. If you use a candy experiment idea, put your own spin on it by testing different candies and writing your own explanation.
3. Please cite my website/book as your source.
4. Let me know how it goes!

Caution:

Grownups should supervise melting experiments.  Melted candy can be much hotter than boiling water.  

Never heat a jawbreaker.  Melted jawbreakers have been known to explode and cause serious burns (see Mythbusters Episode 20, 2004)
